I chose House Insulation Canberra to assess, restore and improve my ceiling insulation from R2 to R7 because they acted professionally and cared about my concerns from the start. I bought my 22 year old house in 2023, and had no idea of the state of the insulation. They were the only business that bothered to get up into the roof to do a proper assessment of existing batts, check my ceiling lights for compliance, then discuss options with me. I chose to retain the current batts as they were in good condition, just dusty, and add a second layer to gain superior insulation of R7, above the current ACT standard of R5. They did an excellent job of repositioning batts that were still in excellent condition, but had been thrown everywhere (previous electricians had been careless and not replaced batts therefore left my house poorly insulated) and plugging gaps. A second layer of R5 was laid correctly over the original batts with no gaps. Old gas heating ducting was removed carefully. Having recently restored the roof tiles I asked for them to take great care. Which they did. Out of three companies I asked to quote, they were quick with a quote, which was transparent, followed up by phone conversations. At every step I was treated with courtesy, and communication throughout the project was 100%. A small gash in the ceiling gyprock of my living room was promptly and carefully repaired. The others I asked to quote: never heard from one, the other took weeks and when at my property denigrated another business, which immediately excluded them from my consideration. I thoroughly recommend HIC, I feel they address problems carefully and with due consideration. And do not overcharge. It is worthwhile to talk to a few installers. Ceiling insulation must be done correctly, as a slight gap or compressed batt will not result in good insulation. Combined with my newly installed double glazing, my house is very comfortable this winter with minimal heating required thus saving money. Which was my ultimate goal!

This company is highly recommended. Tom and Ellie responded to all my queries, no matter how small, very promptly - there was always someone at the other end of the phone line. Dom and Dulpreet removed our old roof insulation and installed the new insulation in a day! It has been 2 weeks and we definitely notice an improvement in the thermal comfort of the house. I particularly appreciate Dom taking the trouble to repair an existing gap in one our roof battens. The entire team was prompt and helpful, and my experience was great from the beginning. I agree with the other reviews. Professional, friendly and reliable! We're doing a few things to our house, and there's some companies that you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy. House insulation Canberra is not one of those!

The entire process from initial enquiry with Tom through to job completion with Dom Junior was outstanding, with excellent communication, very competitive pricing, and exceptional and professional workmanship. The guys took their time to make sure it was done thoroughly and right.
